Research interests:
I am interested in antiviral defenses of mammals, such as the interferon response. I recently started exploring a model system based on Nodamura virus (NoV). While NoV infects insects, its RNA can replicate in a wide variety of hosts, including mammalian cells. The requirements for replication, detection of viral RNA by the host, and various host-pathogen interactions can be illuminated in this system.
